The Virgin Islands Department of Education's Raphael O. Wheatley Skill Center, The Caribbean Islands Education Foundation, Inc. at its Rare Earth Studio in historic Charlotte Amalie along with the Virgin Islands Department of Labor are collaborating on St. Thomas to sponsor internationally respected Gemological Institute of America instruction for the GIA Accredited Jewelry Professional Intensive Diploma.
Evening classes November 29-December 3 and December 6-10 (10 nights) - 6 to 9 pm (each evening) at:
Rare Earth Studio
32 A Raadet's Gade, Suite 2
(gated entry on West side of Raadet's Gade between Main Street and Waterfront)
Each participant will receive Certificates of Diamond Essentials, Coloured Stone Essentials and Jewelry Essentials. And, after passing three (3) exams, the Accredited Jewelry Professional Intensive Diploma will be awarded.
Cost & Schedule Information
$1123 per student
* Specially arranged night classes; includes all instructional materials, presented by globally respected GIA instructors.
Class participation is limited to the first eighteen (18) people 18 years of age and older, who register with a 50% deposit by Friday, November 5, 2010.
Balance of fees will be due Friday, November 19, 2010.
Call for information regarding potential qualification under the DEPARTMENT OF LABOR for support in tuition. Beneficiaries of these gemology classes need to be committed to introduction, re-careering, skill upgrading and entrepreneurship in the jewelry industry.
Persons who earn their GIA AJPI Diploma will qualify for inclusion in the Rare Earth Studio Registered Apprenticeship Program for further studies.
